Apple Picking in Watsonville - Salsamendi Family - Bay Area Family Photographer

If you've dug through my galleries, or social media, you are sure to stumble across this family over and over. The Salsamendi Family has been been on my photography journey since the beginning. I'll never forget our first session together. Chrissie told me how stressful it can be to have family photos done, and her kids never really wanted to stand still and smile. She told me that she wanted photos that felt like "them," and this was music to my ears. Prior to this, I had been doing a lot of posed work, which is fine, but it never really felt like me either. When I told her that I really wanted to start incorporating lifestyle portraits into my work, we were both so excited! So at that first session together, we just played! It was so fun to watch their family personality unfold in front of my camera. That session truly lit a spark for my vision moving forward with other families. As the years go on, I feel like their sessions only get better. We've used quit a few different locations, and when we were brainstorming where we should have our next session, she came up with the idea of apple picking.

We used Clearview Orchard in Watsonville and you guys, this location did not disappoint. It's the most beautiful orchard that is family owned by an incredibly kind family who graciously let us use their property. Unfortunately, there was a mix up with timing, and we didn't get to use the property for as long as we had hoped due to closing time, but we sure did have a TON of fun in the time that we did have. (shout out to the kind owners who stayed late to let us wrap up our session. Thank you so much!)
