Fun story about the Rodriguez Family. I know them through my husband, who went to high school with Mike and Elizabeth. They are actually high school sweet hearts, how cute is that?! Another fun fact is that they were actually some of my very first maternity clients, and I'm so grateful that they trusted me to do their photos! Over the years, I have seen their family grow by 2, and gotten to photograph them so many wonderful times. I loved this sun drenched session we had in Morgan Hill, and I'm already looking forward to their next session.

When Shannon contacted me about getting some pictures done for her mom's Christmas cards, I was so excited! I loved the idea of doing a Grandma and me session! Sadly, this session was taken during those terrible fires in Northern California, but we still got some really wonderful moments.

Being creative is a huge part of who I am, and I love sharing my passion for art with the girls. They truly love it as much as I do, and I am always amazed as to what they create and come up with! We have an art space that's always accessible to them. Since we've moved so many times in the last few years, we've actually had to get pretty creative on how we store our supplies. We've had everything from a whole cart dedicated to supplies, to just a small bin that corrals our favorite things and is kept somewhere easy to access, like our dining table. Our current set up is actually my favorite. We have a small cabinet right off of our kitchen that we use to store the staples. Then outside in our garage, we have an entire shelf that stores all of the rest of it. I pull stuff out and set it in the cabinet weekly because I notice they love crafting more if there are new materials to use. We also leave this cake stand on our dining table with some of our most frequently used items. The girls...
If you've dug through my galleries, or social media, you are sure to stumble across this family over and over. The Salsamendi Family has been been on my photography journey since the beginning. I'll never forget our first session together. Chrissie told me how stressful it can be to have family photos done, and her kids never really wanted to stand still and smile. She told me that she wanted photos that felt like "them," and this was music to my ears. Prior to this, I had been doing a lot of posed work, which is fine, but it never really felt like me either. When I told her that I really wanted to start incorporating lifestyle portraits into my work, we were both so excited! So at that first session together, we just played! It was so fun to watch their family personality unfold in front of my camera. That session truly lit a spark for my vision moving forward with other families. As the years go on, I feel like their sessions only get better. We've used quit a few different locations...
Oh hi there!! Remember me?! I've been up to my eyeballs in amazing photo sessions this season with hardly any time to blog! But I've set some goals for today, which includes some bribery for myself. If I can wrap two galleries and get a blog post done, I'm going to order take out for dinner so that I don't have to cook AND treat myself to some online retail therapy since I haven't seen the inside of a store in at least 17 weeks! ;) (Am I the only one who hasn't seen the new Magnolia line at Target?!)
Anyway... do you remember that in SEPTEMBER I met the Morrison Family in Los Altos for a family maternity session? We had dreamy, golden light that was just incredible. Also, since I'm writing this post now that it's November and I'm dealing with all sorts of weather issues, ie: rain, I'm really missing summer light!!
Poor Beckett was really not feeling the session. But despite not feeling his best, we still had such a great session and got lots of smiles! Until the end. At the end, he didn...
I feel like I might start every client blog with "I'm sorry! I'm so behind on blogging!!" But I'm like... REALLY behind right now. I recently heard that fall for photographers is much like tax season for accountants, and it's so true! It's a whirlwind over here, but as I'm uploading a gallery right now, I figured I'd get in a quick blog!! Anyway!!
Anjuli invited me into their gorgeous home in Corte Madera to take newborn photos of their newest addition, Anthony. When I walked into their beautiful home, it was almost like I walked into my dream home. It looked straight out of a catalog, complete with the sweetest, 2 year old I've ever seen. Mia was the perfect assistant who called me "Ariel" and wanted to be besties the second we learned that our favorite book was Pout Pout Fish.
I could have spent the whole day with Mia talking about Moana, but her baby brother, affectionally known by his family as Tony Bologna, was just as sweet as she was. What an incredible little family, t...
I wanted to put together a blog post about some frequently asked questions that you might be having before booking a session together! If I'm missing anything, feel free to contact me so I can add it to the post!
1) How long are sessions?
All of my sessions are untimed, so there is no need to stress to cram everything in a set time. When you arrive, we'll chat a little bit, I'll meet the family, and then we'll get started! There will be plenty of time for playing, snacks, breaks, exploring, and more! Most sessions last around an hour, but really just varies by session.
2.) How much are your sessions and what do they include?
Maternity and family sessions are $625. Newborn sessions are $675. All of my packages are all inclusive which means that your gallery will be packed to the brim with all of the good stuff from your session. I don't limit galleries at a certain number. Each session also includes custom wardrobe guidance if you need help picking a cohesive outfit. Check out this post to...
I'm sharing a quick sneak peek from the Morrison's family session in Los Altos last week. This location is just my absolute FAVORITE and I get so excited when a client requests using it. We had the best light. Warm, buttery, and basically a photographers dream come true. Even though Beckett was having a bit of an off night and feeling fussy, he was still such a trooper! He loved spotting the horses, climbing the log, and shoulder rides from Daddy! I can't wait to share more from this session as soon as I'm done editing!

You guys... I'm finally blogging about this whole session! I released a sneak peek a few weeks ago, but I just can't go another day without sharing more from this session. I don't even know where to start.... First, let me warn you that there are going to be a WHOLE bunch of images in this post because I just couldn't leave a single one out... Jackie contacted me about doing maternity photos for her and Nick and we agreed on the most perfect spot in Los Altos where the sun sets behind the mountains, and there is this gorgeous oak tree that will take your breath away. We worked on their wardrobe together, and Jackie sent me pictures of the dresses she found. Her beautiful lace one is from Motherhood Maternity and that incredible pink with the cut out back is from ASOS. It's not technically a maternity dress, but it looked like it was made for her, doesn't it?!
When we started the session, Jackie said something about how she isn't photogenic. I think I may have laughed thinkin...
Ok, I just couldn't wait to post a sneak peek from the Salsamendi's photo session this weekend!!! How gorgeous does Chrissie look in this red dress?! Would you believe that it was a $20 dress from Amazon? Me either!!! I'm definitely going to making a separate blog post on this dress because I'm #obsessed!!!
I'll be giving more details about our location and how much fun we had in their fully blogged session, but I just couldn't wait to share a couple!!
