Salsamendi Family - Los Altos, Ca - Laura Pope - Northern Virginia Family Photographer

This post is long over due because this was back from October!! Yikes! Let me tell you, relocating your photography business from Northern California to Northern Virginia is not an easy task! I've really dropped the ball on blogging sessions from the end of last year, so forgive me for it being out of order, but I just couldn't let this session go un-blogged!!

The Salsamendi family are actually dear friends of mine! I met Chrissie through a mommy group in San Jose and we instantly hit it off. She is the friend that I can meet for brunch on a Wednesday and enjoy a mimosa with. Or the person I can admit putting my kids early to bed to because she just gets it. We used to live down the street from each other, and now we live 3,000 miles apart. Writing that makes me extra sad and miss her a whole bunch!! :( I was so glad that I got to do her fall family session though! We met in my absolutely favorite location in California. A little field tucked between a gorgeous neighborhood in Los Altos. Whenever I use this location for pictures, I always go at least 30 minutes early just to take it all in because it's too beautiful for words.

When they arrived to the session, not only did they look like they just stepped out of Pinterest, Chrissie also came with two hand made quilts and hand made gifts for me! Another thing that we've bonded over has been quilting, towing our machines to each other's houses and sewing in-between nap schedules and school pick ups.

These hand made quilts were out of this world beautiful. The light one had the perfect pallet for this warm evening session. Neutral with pops of pinks and green. The red one was made out of shirts from her Grandfather who had passed away. She even sewed meaningful words into the top stitch of the quilt which made it so sentimental and special. How talented is she?!

Good friends are hard to come by, and I've been incredibly blessed to call this family my friends. Thank you for such a wonderful session, Salsamendi Family!!
