Los Altos Maternity Session

We had a wonderful time with Laura and the pictures turned out amazing! She made us feel very comfortable and gave instruction so we didn't have to come up with ideas on our own (though she was also open to doing any pose we felt like doing as well). The location {in Los Altos} was exactly what I wanted and it was nice that she communicated with me beforehand on what that scene would be. She also gave me advice on what to wear and in the end it wouldn't have mattered what we were wearing because the lighting and softness and natural parts of the photos just shine though anyways. I have never seen photos like this of myself before and I'm in love; I can't wait till we have our next family/maternity/just feel like it photo shoot with Laura!

I found Laura Pope Photography by googling 'natural newborn photography in San Jose' and am so happy with the results! We did a newborn session when our daughter was 11 days old. Scheduling was easy, Laura was prompt and ready to go. She was very patient and at ease with our newborn and was happy to include our dog as well. We had fun doing the shoot and  the experience was very positive. Then we got the results! Our pictures exceed my expectations and I know I will treasure them forever. I loved her style from what I had seen on her website, and she stayed true to this 'natural' style which to me is more family photography and less posed pictures. She also got great photos of the details of our daughter's features. She is very talented in using natural light and getting a huge variety of shots. I can highly recommend using her for your newborn photos and I look forward to working with her again as our little one grows!

I'm so grateful we found Laura Pope thru a friend.  Laura has an amazing eye and always seems to get the best shots, where everyone looks good, and it's beautiful enough to frame.  She is well worth the cost!  We had her take my baby boy's 3 month shots, 6 month shots, and 1 year photos.  All of them turned out with incredible images that become more valuable over time.  She is calm, happy, and light hearted in directing everyone in the sessions.  Somehow her warm, generous spirit seems to always be contagious, comes through in the expressions on my family's faces.

My husband and I recently had a maternity photo shoot with Laura and we absolutely LOVE her work! We're normally pretty awkward when posing in front of a camera and end up taking stiff or silly photos. But working with Laura, she made us feel relaxed and at ease, plus we had tons of fun, and it really showed in our pictures. She is also super sweet to work with, extremely professional, and FAST! Bay Area Family Photographer

We found Laura Pope through a private group on Facebook and she came to take family photos of our family of 6 (children ages 12, 11, 9 and 4).  My family was not thrilled about this, as family photoshoots usually result in lots of yelling, tears and not the best smiles....

Laura was AMAZING! She immediately made everyone feel at ease. And they were having fun.  In fact, after about 10 minutes, my 11 year old daughter said to me "Mom, can we keep her? I really like her!" Those are the sounds of a very successful photoshoot!

Laura took such great shots of the family together, plus just shots of the boys and the girls and my husband and me. 

Laura had my gallery ready within a couple of days and honestly, I was prepared to buy only 3 images. But once I saw them all, I HAD to buy the entire gallery because she captured the personalities of all of my kids so well and they were such beautiful pictures to treasure for years to come. She also was able to make a few edits on certain photos, at my request.

We gave Laura the grueling task of taking family photos which included our very temperamental toddler and one large golden retriever. According to everyone in Hollywood working with children and animals is near impossible. Laura took on the task with no complaint, brave soul that one.

We had Laura take photos of our "newborn" baby girl, Kiana (1 month old that kept moving every two seconds).  Laura not only had the patience but reassured us that it was ok and kept putting Kiana back into the posing positions.  Laura did a fantastic job!  She had a positive attitude, very friendly and great with kids.  She had a sneak peak for us the very next day and was able to get our photos done in less than the time frame she had mentioned.  We will definitely call Laura again for our future photo sessions and will have no hesitations in referring her to our friends and family.

Our first experience with a professional photographer was everything and more! My husband and I are shy when it comes to taking pictures but Laura made us feel very comfortable.

We booked a fall mini session which is 30 min. We were actually late due to my 1 year so we had 15 min left but she managed to take great shots! I loved how they came out!

I would definitely recommend her to anyone taking family portraits. She was very helpful with any questions I had about the whole experience. I hope to work with her again!

I've now worked with Laura three times which is a testament to her amazing work! She photographed both my sons' new born photos and our family fall pictures.  She is so sweet and gentle with the boys; they were only one week old! I've used the photos numerous times, in announcement cards, birthday invitations, wall frames, nursery decorations, Christmas cards, etc! Well worth every penny!

Newborn Twin Photographer

Laura has done our family photos multiple times and each experience was amazing. She helped us do family pictures with a dog and toddler which should have been a mess but with her the pictures turned out amazing. A few years later we used her for pictures with our twins (newborn and when they were toddlers) and those turned out beautiful.
She is able to capture smiles with our grumpy kids and basically makes our family look better than we are. Definitely recommend.

I asked Laura to come into San Francisco and shoot some photos of my dog, Rufus and I for my blog, Canines & Couture. We decided on Crissy Field which, as I'm sure you're aware, isn't exactly a short trek for Laura, given she lives in San Jose. She brought her Boxer, Rudie along too, which we were tickled by (especially Rufus who had a blast playing with Rudie). 

To say that the weather conditions were less than ideal out at Crissy Field that evening would be an understatement of epic proportions. It was FREEZING and the wind was so fierce that it felt like I was standing on the wing of a flying aircraft. Forget about my hair; it was wild mess. I was shivering. I literally thought I might die (and this is when I realized I could never survive a winter on the East coast). Laura, however, didn't complain one bit. She got right to it, snapping away as if the weather was perfect. She had a fierce determination to get it right, despite the fact that I looked like a wind blown freak. 

I left the photo shoot feeling so bad that she had come all that way to do a photo shoot where the subject was a cry baby and probably looked terrible. And then something magical occurred; Laura sent me a CD full of usable, beautiful images. As I scrolled through them all I was shocked that despite the conditions, they were gorgeous.

That's talent, right there. God only knows what she's capable of when she has a subject who isn't wind blown and bone chillingly cold. That's the kind of photographer I'd want on my wedding day or at a big event. Someone who can make the magic happen no matter what. 

Love Laura, love her work. You'd be a fool not to hire her.

We found Laura on Yelp a few months ago and decided to try her out for our daughters 1 year pics, we are so glad we did!!  The whole process was easy...a few emails back and forth to schedule a time and location, easy payment process, comfortable shoot and beautiful pictures. When my daughter got engaged my biggest priority for the wedding was a great photographer!  I hadn't hired a professional for my big day and have regreted it since.  Once it's over, all you have are the photos!  So I was determined to capture every moment of my daughter's special day.

I found Laura on Craig's List.  It was during the holidays and she was advertising sessions at a nearby Christmas tree lot.  I was drawn to the flyer and the photo (of her adorable daughter) on it.  I checked out her website and discussed it with my daughter and we agreed to give Laura a try.  We booked the engagement shoot and decided to base our decision about the wedding on the photos we received from the shoot.

Not only were the photos beautiful, but Laura was a DREAM to work with!  We were comfortable with her immediately and she made the photo session a lot of fun!  Everything went beautifully and we were delivered so many amazing pics, it was hard to choose a favorite!

We booked Laura for the wedding and never looked back!  She was very attentive and made sure to get all of the information from us she needed to provide us with the best experience possible.  On the day of the event she and her husband were AMAZING!  They work really well together and were unflappable!  I think I would have pulled my hair out trying to get some of the groups together for photos, but they never let it show if they were at all flustered by any of it.

Most importantly...we have the most beautiful photos (over 900) of the day!  And, a close second in importance, we've made a new friend in Laura!

I have recommended Laura every chance I get and I'm recommending her to you now!

I've been meaning to leave this post for a long time! We did a family photo shoot when our daughter was 3 months and we just got engaged. Since I didn't have any professional newborn photos or photos of the proposal this was a really exciting and important photo shoot for us. She was very responsive the entire time before our appointment, answering any questions I had. Day of- she was on time and just such a pleasant person to work with. She had so much patience and really got some great shots. She knew the area well and had her lighting all timed out so it went quickly for our not so patient infant! ... I loved all of the pictures from our session and will be calling Laura in the future! 5 stars!

Cupertino Wedding Photographer

We were married this past May, and Laura's photography was absolutely what we dreamed of.

I made it clear I did not want oodles of posed photos--that I really wanted to capture the candid moments of our day. We had an outdoor family style picnic wedding, complete DIY, and Laura captured every detail of our hardwork as well as our friends and family, and most importantly, us! I have a five year old daughter, so needless to say, there were kids running around everywhere. We had a hoola hooping contest and played horseshoes, and Laura captured all of it in incredible style. She has a spectacular creative eye and our photos are so beautiful.

The ceremony photos are breathtaking - especially those of my husband and I. The framing of each shot gives the photos an artistic flare, and she captured the most sensitive moments: tears, prayer, hope, and joy...and not just of my husband and I, but of our wedding party and my daughter.

On top of her great photography, Laura was patient, warm and friendly to all the guests and especially me! She worked with my friends that were coordinating the wedding and was great with the children. Following the wedding, I panicked that I didn't get the right photos (I've heard this is common for post-wedding blues). Laura was comforting and reassuring, and sent my photos as quickly as possible so I could remember the day. After seeing our blog post, I felt so relieved and overjoyed that she had done exactly what I asked and more. 

I can't wait to put our album together and look at it for many years to come. Thank you Laura!

I did a casting call for senior portraits, as I graduated from CSUMB this Spring and she captured my personality in every picture! We worked with Laura to capture pictures of our 2 daughters 6 and 1 years of age.  She recommended a beautiful outdoor setting with a spectacular oak tree in south San Jose.  The day was a bit rainy so I did not know what to expect but we were blown away by the pictures.  She really have an eye for capturing candid moments with children and was able to capture not only wonderful expressions but also different angles and backgrounds that contributed to the overall finished product.  Visitors who come to our house always comment on the photo wall we have of our children and what wonderful pictures and expressions of the children.  We will treasure these pictures!

Laura took my maternity photos and I would highly recommend her. She knew a variety of venues around the South Bay Area that would work, and my husband and I chose a rustic spot that Laura recommended. She really took her time with us, ensuring that we got all the best possible shots, even waiting till the moon came out in the dusk sky to get a picture of that too!

Laura is great to work with and very affordable. I loved her attention to detail, even bringing cute props to the session, which really added a lot to the pictures, which came out great.

I would highly recommend Laura Pope Photography!! I hired Laura to take my baby's newborn pictures. I emailed her last minute, and she worked me into her schedule before leaving for her vacation! It was such a pleasure to have Laura come to our home for the photoshoot. She brought all the props and proper backdrops to make for a stunning set up along with all of her professional equipment. She was very gentle and patient with my baby, even when we had to take a break for a feeding session. You could tell she was truly enjoying herself when she was taking the photos, and I could tell my baby felt calm with her as well. The photos Laura took are so artistic and her eye for detail and what looks good in a photo is amazing! 

I would also like to point out that with Laura, you get your moneys worth, and its not like a lot of photographers where they charge you an arm and a leg for the photos afterwards. her prices are VERY reasonable and she makes sure that there are tons of good shots and she takes her time editing, making sure they are of the highest quality finished product. She also includes an online gallery and a disc that you get to keep, which is also something other photographers don't do and she also is very clear when you are signing the contract of what all you get so that there are no surprises at the end. She has a couple of baby packages that are such a good value for the money. She also does maternity, wedding and all sorts of other stuff so she is a well rounded photographer with many different areas of expertise.
I spent a lot of time researching photographers in the San Jose area and she is the best I have found.
I will now have Laura handle all of my photography needs. If you are in need of a photographer, Laura Pope Photography is absolutely the best choice!
